Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr . is widely seen as the best player on the New York Giants ’ roster. He makes big plays, fires up his teammates and carries the offense with his remarkable talent. No one is doubting his ability to take over a game, but his character has been brought into question several times. During his chat, Davis weighed in on Beckham and his antics both on the field and off it. “We all can agree that Odell is a great player,” Davis said.

Odell Beckham Jr. has been one of the NFL's most mercurial stars over the past couple of seasons. His potential is endless, but his antics have hurt his team at times.

Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis, speaking Sunday on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay Morning," called out the star wide receiver ahead of New York's playoff game against the Packers.

We still don’t know who the “ Panthers official” mentioned in Schefter’s report could be, but Giants beat writer Art Stapleton is reporting that Josh Norman was also wielding a bat before the game, and that threats toward Beckham Jr . were made

It’s hard to know what to make of Batghazi—the claims, which were released to various reporters all at the same time, hinting they came from a Giants source, that Panthers players gestured toward Odell Beckham Jr . with baseball bats before the game in which Beckham completely lost his composure. Here’s some more video showing some of what went down.

"Whenever he goes out and he plays and he controls his emotions, he's huge for that team. But when he goes out and he allows his emotions to get the best of him, he's a cancer for that football team and you can see it, it's evident."

Davis cited last season's incident between Beckham and then-teammate Josh Norman.

Beckham was ultimately suspended one game for his antics, but Norman was not innocent either.

"When we played him, you could see him and Josh going back and forth, you could see that the whole team was getting caught up in that and they wasn't focused in the first half, that's why we were able to jump out to a big lead," Davis said of thePanthers' 38-35 win over theGiantsin 2015. "They kinda settled down later in the second half in the football game and they were able to come back. It was just really evident that they were not a focused bunch when he was doing all of that."

After getting off to a slow start, Beckham finished the 2016 regular season with101 receptions for 1,367 yards and 10 touchdowns.

While Beckham may be difficult to gauge on a weekly basis, astatement like this may have said more about Beckham had it been one of his teammates saying it.
