Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the cast of Avengers : Infinity War and its untitled sequel. While Peter Dinklage has been a fixture of both TV and film since the 90s, it wasn’t until landing the fan favorite role of Tyrion Lannister in the HBO phenomenon Game of Thrones that he truly broke out, quickly becoming a household name in the years since that series’ 2011 premiere.

If you take a look at “nerdy” things that have hit the mainstream, it’s hard to think of anything more popular than the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Game of Thrones (only Star Wars and The Walking Dead can even compete). Well, hold onto your butts, because everyone’s favorite Lannister could be joining the MCU. According to Entertainment Weekly, Peter Dinklage is in early talks to join Avengers : Infinity War (cue excited shrieking).

The 47-year-old actor - who has portrayed Tyrion Lannister in the HBO series 'Game of Thrones' since 2011 - is wanted to play a key role in the eagerly-awaited new comic book movie, which is expected to begin filming around the mid-point of 2017.

The role being discussed with Peter remains unclear, but he could feature in both of the next two 'Avengers' movies, which are being shot back-to-back, according to Variety.
