' Mad Max : Fury Road' star Tom Hardy reveals that he is signed on to reprise his role in three sequels to this summer's film. WB obviously views Hardy as the main attraction with Fury Road, and if the studio wants to keep him in the game for a long series, they’d be best served to keep him happy. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but right now we certainly wouldn’t mind more trips to this visually-stunning world – again, based on what we’ve seen thus far.

There were talks of a film exploring the backstory of Charlize Theron’s (Kubo and the Two Strings) Furiosa, the one-armed heroine who stole the show from Tom Hardy ’s (Peaky Blinders) Max , as well as a direct sequel , rumored to be titled Mad Max : The Wasteland, which would reunite Theron and Hardy for another Furiosa-centered story. Miller has stated he wants to do two more entries into the franchise, but has also said he had other projects in mind before Mad Max hits screens again.

Miller has said that he already has the outlines/rough scripts for two sequels completed because the production delays for Fury Road left he and his team with plenty of downtime, but candor about on-set tension between stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron made the prospect of the duo even wanting to return a bit dubious. While Miller’s comments on the likelihood of a sequel have wavered a bit over the months, he most recently said he intends on making a smaller, non-effects driven picture before thinking about diving back into the madness that is Mad Max again.

"This movie is on the run, people don't have much time for recreational talk.
